“The Hoff” Returns Again

by thetodaynews on Jul.26, 2010, under celebs, pop culture

The Hasselhoffs
David Hasselhoff has been on TV for the better part of 35 years now, starring in soap operas, prime time and syndicated action shows, and reality performance shows. He even managed to find time to become a pop star in Germany.

Not wanting to be one-upped by other celebrity dads such as Gene Simmons, Hulk Hogan, and Bruce Jenner-Kardashian who have reality shows detailing the misadventures of their own families, David Hasselhoff is apparently gearing up for a reality show of his own, “The Hasselhoffs”, which will also feature daughters Taylor Ann Hasselhoff and Hayley Hasselhoff.

If this new reality show doesn’t last, The Hoff can always go back to singing pop songs in Germany. Because those Germans just looooove David Hasselhoff…

Bob Barker Anti-Whaling Boat Rams Whaling Vessel

by thetodaynews on Jan.06, 2010, under pop culture

bob barker boatA two-million-dollar anti-whaling activist boat, resembling The Bat-mobile and part of a fleet named after former The Price is Right host Bob Barker, decided that ramming a Japanese fishing boat twenty times it’s size (and made of metal as opposed to Bat-fiberglass) was a good way to draw attention to its cause.

The tactic apparently worked, as the video of the Bat-mobile smashing against the whaling boat like an egg thrown against the pavement has received international news coverage. But has the costly and dangerous stunt brought any new supporters to their cause? Probably not.

The Future World’s Largest Rubber Band Ball

by thetodaynews on Nov.03, 2009, under pop culture

Florida resident Joel Waul recently had his 9,032 pound rubber band ball, already certified by The Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest, hauled away with a crane by Ripley’s Believe It or Not to be displayed in a yet-to-be-determined museum.

Refusing to be outdone when it comes to stupid stunts, The Today News .com staff has started working on its own rubber band ball. In short time our rubber band ball has grown to such mammoth proportions that even our office Rascal Robot “Herbie” is no longer able to roll it across the table.
